Program Rules (Read First)

  • One application per household. A household is one parent/guardian—or two together—and the children they care for.
    • Example: If you and your children live with grandparents, you are one household and must apply separately from the grandparents.
    • Example: If two families share the same home, each family with their own children is a separate household and submits its own application.
  • Eligible ages: 6 months–14 years.
  • Toy ideas: Please provide ideas. We cannot provide video game systems, accessories, phones, gift cards, or clothing. We can’t promise specific toys, but we’ll do our best to match your ideas.
  • Documents required: See “What You’ll Need to Bring.” Many families find it easier to gather these before starting the application.
  • CARE will contact you by phone, text, or email about your application and pickup. Make sure your numbers can receive calls/texts. If you don’t use email, that’s okay—we can reach you by phone.
  • Phone number changed? Email us at c4h@carecc.org right away so we can update your contact info.

What You’ll Need to Bring

About Documentation

This is an income-based program. Families receiving SNAP often qualify, but all applications are reviewed based on documentation. Even if you do not receive SNAP, you may still qualify based on household income and documents.

  • You must provide documentation for us to process and approve your application.
  • Turn in any missing documents within 7 business days from the day you apply (not counting weekends or holidays).
  • If you have trouble gathering documents, contact CARE within 7 business days so we can work with you.
  • Incomplete applications cannot be processed, and families cannot reapply again this season.
  • Unsure what counts? See “Required Parent/Guardian Documents” below or ask CARE staff when you come in, or contact us by email.

    • This form is available at CARE during walk-in hours or on our website.
  • Two working phone numbers and an email address.
  • Authorized emergency contact (name, phone, and photo ID) who may pick up toys if needed.
    • This can be any trusted adult. They must bring the same photo ID listed on your application.
    • Only the people listed on your application can pick up toys for you.
  • Choose carefully: Changing your emergency contact later may not be possible. Only one emergency contact can be listed.
  • If you have an emergency, call CARE right away to review options.

Please bring records of all income received by or contributed to the household.
Include income from anyone who shares or contributes to your household’s expenses (rent, food, or utilities).
